The ‘Helping SA OUT’ initiative continues with a concession for clients who are still driving less due to the lockdown.

While there has been a slight relaxation of the COVID-19 lockdown by means of the level system, many OUTsurance clients are still driving less than usual. And to these clients, OUTsurance is offering a 10% discount on the vehicle insurance premium they will pay in June 2020.

OUTsurance CEO, Danie Matthee, says, “It’s the fair thing to do. After all, with fewer clients on the road, we do see fewer accident-related claims. More importantly, we want to do all we can to ease the general financial strain our clients have to face during this time.”

The discount is available to all active Personal and Commercial Vehicle Insurance clients and extends to Commercial clients with Goods in Transit Insurance. All clients have to do is opt in via OUTsurance’s digital platforms, as explained in communications sent to them via email and SMS, declaring that their monthly mileage has decreased as a direct result of the lockdown.

This comes after an automatic 15% premium reduction to all vehicle insurance clients for their premiums paid in May 2020, forming part of the Helping SA OUT initiative, which is providing assistance to clients, service providers, medical professionals and communities during these trying times. Thus far, the initiative represents a commitment of R209 million to the fight against COVID-19 and the economic devastation it leaves in its path.

“Like we have said before, the situation is constantly changing, and we will continue to review how we can help out. We encourage our clients to keep an eye on their mobile phones and email inboxes for updates,” added Matthee.
