We are up, even during lockdown.

Rest assured, OUTsurance is here for all of you during the nationwide lockdown. Read the message from Danie Matthee, OUTsurance CEO.

Dear clients and friends,

As you know, from tomorrow South Africa will be in lockdown. We applaud our President for his bold and concise address, and fully support the measures he has implemented.

In spite of insurance being in the essential services category, which means we could keep our physical premises open, we have decided to implement a full work-from-home strategy for all staff to help ‘flatten the curve’.

Whilst all our offices will be closed from Friday 27 March 2020 until 16 April 2020, being available to assist you when you need us remains our priority. We have equipped staff with the technology needed to work from home, so they can handle all new business enquiries, existing client services, claims and other services. In short – minimal disruption to you.

We are, however, working on a reduced staff complement, using remote connectivity, and apologise should there be a lapse in the service you are accustomed to. Our teams are working around the clock to minimise the impact.

We encourage you to download our app or register on the myOUTsurance client portal on our website.

These give you convenient self-service solutions, such as:

  • Emergency Home and Roadside Assistance
  • Claims submission and tracking
  • Updating personal details
  • Adding Out-and-About (All Risk) items to cover
  • Requesting Documents

Our contact centre working hours during this period are:

  • Monday to Friday – 8am to 5pm
  • Saturday – 8:30am to 1pm
  • Our 24/7 Help@OUT emergency services remains available throughout.

Due to the lockdown not all our service providers who serve you during claims time will be allowed to operate. Those who can assist will do so, but we encourage you to please submit any claims timeously, so that we can allocate work to a provider to start as soon as they are able to.

During this time, I would like to encourage you and your families to practice the social distancing protocols that have been communicated. We are confident that if we all work together, we will overcome this pandemic before long.

Stay safe.

Danie Matthee
