Why OUTsurance continues to be a Top Employer

On 8 October 2026, OUTsurance celebrates another year of being recognised as a Top Employer by the Top Employers Institute. While the certification is something to be proud of, it is really a reflection of what happens inside the business every day: people building successful careers.

The Top Employers Institute evaluates organisations on areas such as employee wellbeing, learning and development, talent acquisition, leadership, inclusion and workplace culture. In 2026, more than 2,500 organisations across 131 countries were certified, positively impacting approximately 14 million employees worldwide.

At OUTsurance, that recognition is built on a simple belief: when people are given the opportunity to grow, businesses grow too.

Where ambition meets opportunity

One of the clearest examples of this is OUTsurance Commercial Brokers.

As the business continues to expand, Commercial Brokers play an important role in helping South African businesses protect what matters to them. For brokers, it also creates the opportunity to build a rewarding career in a high-performance environment with the support needed to succeed.

OUTsurance also creates pathways for internal talent to grow into broker roles, giving employees the opportunity to build new skills and take the next step in their careers.

From comprehensive onboarding and product training to ongoing coaching from experienced leaders, brokers are equipped with the tools, knowledge and backing to grow their careers with confidence.

Leadership that develops people

Creating a successful business starts with developing capable, confident people.

At OUTsurance, leaders are expected to do more than deliver results. They are responsible for helping employees grow, take on new challenges and reach their potential.

According to Suren Naidoo, Chief People Officer at OUTsurance, that commitment to development is what sets the organisation apart.

"Our people are our superpower. That's why we're constantly working towards our goal of being a great company to work for. We want people to do meaningful work, develop their skills and see a future for themselves within the business. Recognition as a Top Employer is rewarding, but what matters most is the calibre of people we attract, develop and retain."

That focus is supported by the values that have shaped OUTsurance for 28 years: Human, Passion, Respect, Awesome Service, Dynamic and Recognition.

Built on people

OUTsurance CEO Danie Matthee believes the company's long-term success is closely linked to the opportunities available to its people.

"We've never viewed our people as a resource to be managed. They're the reason we've been able to build and grow a successful business. When talented people are given the right environment to perform, learn and progress, everyone benefits, including our clients."

Being recognised as a Top Employer is an important milestone, but it is ultimately a reflection of something bigger; a workplace where people are trusted with responsibility, supported in their growth and given real opportunities to build successful careers.
