OUTsurance is the preferred brand for ‘Car Insurance’ and ‘Buildings and Household Contents’ Insurance as per the 2022/2023 Ask Afrika Icon Brands™ Benchmark Survey. They’ve also won the 2022/2023 Ask Afrika Orange Index® Award for service excellence in the Funeral Insurance category.

The Ask Afrika Icon Brands index serves to recognise brands that are used and loved by South Africans across the country. These brands are considered as trusted, everyday, go-to brands to which South Africans are loyal and committed.

The Ask Afrika Orange Index ® survey is widely regarded as an objective, authoritative measure of customer satisfaction and loyalty. As the only service excellence benchmark of its kind in South Africa, it provides companies with valuable insight on the overall customer experience.

Danie Matthee, Chief Executive Officer at OUTsurance comments, ‘It’s a tremendous accomplishment to have won these awards, especially in such a tough, competitive industry such as insurance. This is a direct reflection of the outstanding commitment of each and every staff member here at OUTsurance.

‘We know that clients’ needs and expectations tend to change continuously, and as such we’ve made service delivery a very important business focus. In addition to fast claim turnaround times and great client service, we’ve put a lot of energy into providing clients with time-saving, value-added services on the OUTsurance app and website.

‘Being named an “iconic South African brand” is definitely a humbling experience. For me, personally, and also for our entire management team. This serves a new challenge in that we’ll have to make sure to maintain our high levels of service excellence and to “up our game” to find new, innovative ways to exceed our clients’ expectations.’

Sarina de Beer, Manging Director at Ask Afrika agrees, ‘We are moving deeper into a contactless world where physical experiences have digital variants. It’s really about making experiences convenient, fun, meaningful and relevant. Businesses need to make thoughtful decisions about what is best for the customer and most supportive for employees.’

OUTsurance is the current holder of a number of accolades, as voted for by readers of publications such as City Press, Daily Sun and The Sunday Times.

This is in addition to their impressive run (the seventh consecutive year) of having the least amount of complaints referred to the Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance (OSTI), compared with the 10 largest short-term insurers by claims volume.

Disclaimer: Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance Annual Reports 2015 – 2021. OUTsurance (2021): 0.87 complaints per 1 000 claims. Average number of complaints per 1 000 claims of ten largest insurers by claims volume (2021): 1.33 complaints per 1 000 claims.
