About the Pointsmen project

Since its modest beginning in 2005, thousands of motorists around Johannesburg, City of Tshwane and Cape Town have come to rely on the assistance of the OUTsurance Pointsmen Project. Our involvement in this project meant that in addition to providing thousands of motorists with car insurance quotes every year – we could now do our bit to give back to the community by helping to alleviate traffic congestion, contribute towards road safety, and create job opportunities in underprivileged communities. There are two types of pointsmen: static pointsmen who are assigned to specific high-traffic intersections and mobile pointsmen who are dispatched to traffic hot spots at a moment’s notice. These men and women are truly passionate about making your daily commute as stress-free as possible – you’ll recognise them by their bright-yellow bibs, toothy grins and friendly demeanour!
