‘I’m thrilled to have Primedia Broadcasting on board’, says Danie Matthee, Chief Executive Officer at OUTsurance.
‘It was clear from the get-go that we share the same vision of expanding the project to other areas of South Africa and raising the bar when it comes to creating job opportunities for people from previously disadvantaged communities.’
The OUTsurance Pointsmen project was launched in September 2005 with a total of 21 pointsmen and women directing traffic at high traffic volume intersections throughout Johannesburg. Following a successful track record in Johannesburg, the OUTsurance Pointsmen initiative was extended to Tshwane and officially launched operations in May 2011.
A limited duration project was kicked off in Cape Town from 2011 until 2017, and in January 2023, OUTsurance announced the expansion of the project into Paarl and Stellenbosch.
‘We’ve always been avid supporters of the OUTsurance Pointsmen Initiative,’ says Lindile Xoko, Chief Executive Officer of Primedia Broadcasting.
‘Kfm 94.5 has been acting as the Western Cape media partner for the OUTsurance Pointsmen Project since the beginning of 2023 and it made perfect sense to extend our support by acting as primary media partner for the Gauteng and Western Cape regions.’
Primedia Broadcasting is known for its significant impact on the South African media scene, serving as a key platform for news, information, and entertainment. It owns and operates premium radio stations such as Kfm 94.5, CapeTalk, 702, and 947, covering a diverse range of formats and audiences.
Pointsmen project support is provided by Traffic FreeFlow who manages and operates the project in Johannesburg, Tshwane, Paarl, and Stellenbosch.
