This month marks the 1st birthday celebration for the Tswhane OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen Project.

In May 2011, after six years of experiencing tremendous success in Johannesburg, project manager Traffic Freeflow, short-term insurance company OUTsurance and media partner Talk Radio 702 decided that the time was right to extend the project to Tshwane.

Today – one year after the launch, the Tshwane Pointsmen Project is still going strong with a total of 31 static pointsmen and 3 project managers. Future plans include introducing a brand-new team of mobile pointsmen and to employ even more static pointsmen to help manage the increasing levels of traffic congestion in this region.

Peter Cronjé, Head of Marketing at OUTsurance says that “we’re extremely proud to have played even a small part in the success of a project like this. However, true credit should go to the incredible team of men and women who report to their posts, each and every morning, without fail. It’s this level of commitment and passion that makes for successful projects like this.”
