OUTvest, the online investment platform powered by OUTsurance, will now offer South Africans a simple way to invest in global markets – all at a transparent, low fee. It comes in the form of the OUTvest Global Wealth Builder, which is aimed at long-term wealth creation and protection for investors looking to diversify.

Grant Locke, Head of OUTvest, says, “While South Africa is our beloved home, the county represents less than 1% of the global economy. There’s a lot of investment opportunity beyond our borders and we wanted to offer a product that is as accessible as possible.”

Through a single investment, priced in Rands, investors will get exposure to 49 markets and over 9 000 stocks, which include well-known companies such as Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google’s holding company), Facebook, Microsoft, Tesla, to name a few. This is thanks to the underlying Exchange Traded Fund (ETF), the CoreShares Total World Stock Feeder ETF.

“The investment process is fast. It’s all online and easy – no paperwork and no documents to upload. Of course, we ensure it is the correct choice for the investor, thanks to our advanced online advice system. Like any investment traded on a stock exchange, there can be fluctuations in value from day to day, so we make sure the Global Wealth Builder is reserved for investors with a time horizon of eight years or more.”

“As for fees, here’s where we solidify our offering. You see, there are many fees associated with trading ETFs, which are sometimes hard to understand, or even see without serious investigation. These can include transaction costs, settlement costs, early withdrawal costs, cost of the ETF – to name a few. Our fee is simplified, transparent and very low to ensure that more of your money is left invested. Just 1,5% per year, for an investment value under R315 000; a fixed fee of only R4 725 per year for an investment value of between R315 000 and R1 181 250; and just 0.4% per year for any investment value thereafter. It continues our ONEfee approach, which leaves no guesswork for the investor,” adds Locke.

Investors have the option to invest with a general OUTvest investment account or with the OUTvest Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA). With the latter, any investment growth is free of tax, provided the investor sticks to TFSA regulations.

The new Global Wealth Builder expands the already substantial set of radically low-fee investment plans offered by OUTvest, which are available directly or through selected Financial Advisors. OUTvest’s overall investment philosophy is OUTcomes-based, where investors can set a target and get all the guidance they need to get there, through sophisticated investment tracking.

OUTvest is an authorised FSP. All investments are exposed to risk, not guaranteed (in respect to capital or the return) and dependent on the performance of the underlying assets. Both Exchange Traded Fund(s) (ETF) and unit trusts are collective investment schemes, however, these products are priced and traded differently. A unit trust is priced once a day whereas an ETF is trading continuously throughout the day during JSE trading hours. Benchmark: FTSE Global All Cap Index.  The ETF is managed by Coreshares Asset Management. Collective investment schemes are generally medium to long-term investments. The ONEfee for ETFs includes the targeted Total Expense Ratio (TER) for the CoreShares Total World Stock Feeder ETF but does not include other transaction costs inside the ETF as they cannot be known in advance. Ts and Cs apply.
