This award is the latest addition to OUTsurance’s list of accolades. They’ve also been awarded with the title of ‘Short-Term Insurer of the Year’ in the 2024 News24 Business Awards, and ‘Best Insurance Company’ in the 2023 Star Readers’ Choice Awards. In 2014, Beeld was the first publication in South Africa to launch the Readers’ Choice Awards, giving readers of the print edition of the newspaper the opportunity to recognise those companies who consistently deliver outstanding service and products at affordable prices.
In the 10 years since the award was introduced, many newspaper publications followed suit by introducing their very own Readers’ Choice Awards, providing readers with an opportunity to name their favourite brands.
This year, the Beeld Readers’ Choice award introduced a total of 103 categories, making 2024 the year with the most categories thus far. To incentivise readers to take part in this survey, Beeld offered cash prizes to the value of R20 000.
A sample of 600 readers from Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West had the opportunity to vote for their favourite insurer by sending an email to a dedicated email address.
All votes were tallied by a team of independent auditors who then also announced the names of the respective category winners.
