The Staff Helping SA OUT initiative continues to support communities across the country

The excitement for the start of the 2022 school year was marred by severe flooding in parts of South Africa. Among the victims was Windsor Secondary School in Ladysmith, which saw some damage to infrastructure and the complete loss of many textbooks, after the adjacent Klip River burst its banks.

OUTsurance, through its Staff Helping SA OUT initiative, rose to the occasion, securing 951 vital Mathematics and Science textbooks to help get the learners back on track with their studies.

OUTsurance’s Eunice McGill says, “The Staff Helping SA OUT is so much more than a CSI initiative because, as the name suggests, it is driven by our staff. This is in the form of donations, which are matched by the business, and active volunteering on the ground. We’re proud to assist where we can, especially when it involves children. We hope these textbooks will help learners for years to come.”
