We have recently seen an increase in email “phishing” and other scams which claim to be communications from OUTsurance. The scams usually ask people to confirm sensitive information (like banking details) by clicking on a link to a fake website (e.g. a fake OUTsurance or internet banking website). Note that we will under no circumstances ask you to confirm your banking details or other sensitive information via email or over the internet.
If an email seems legitimate, but you are still unsure, please contact our fraud line on 0860 102 117 or reportfraud@out.co.za for confirmation or report a scam via reportscams@out.co.za – we will gladly assist.
IMPORTANT: If you have divulged banking details as a result of one of these scams, contact your bank immediately so that they can take appropriate action.
