Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance releases individual insurance companies’ complaints figures

At OUTsurance we view our responsibility to pay claims promptly and fairly as the most important thing we do. The Ombudsman for Short-Term Insurance (“OSTI”) is an independent body where clients can complain if they believe they have been unfairly treated by a short-term insurer. During May 2013, the OSTI has for the first time publically published complaints figures pertaining to individual companies.

Reporting of incidents where the damage is less than your excess

Subsequent to a recent court decision being reported on in the media, short-term insurance clients have rightfully raised the question as to whether they are required to report all losses and damages which they have incurred subsequent to taking out an insurance policy.  The issue at hand is whether OUTsurance requires such reporting from our clients and whether failure to do so may result in us repudiating subsequent claims, which are otherwise valid.

OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen Project Tender Awarded to Traffic Freeflow

After months of uncertainty over the future of the OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen, the City of Johannesburg awarded the tender to the current project manager, Traffic Freeflow. The new agreement allows Traffic Freeflow to act as project managers until March 2015.

OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen Project Celebrates First Year in Tshwane

This month marks the 1st birthday celebration for the Tswhane OUTsurance 702 Pointsmen Project. In May 2011, after six years of experiencing tremendous success in Johannesburg, project manager Traffic Freeflow (TFF), short-term insurance company OUTsurance and media partner Talk Radio 702 decided that the time was right to extend the project to Tshwane.
