Braam Malherbe - Running the great wall of china

Born in Cape Town 1957, Braam (Left) attended a Wilderness Leadership School in KwaZulu Natal, which sparked a life long passion to protect our environment and to empower others to do the same. He has worked extensively with youth issues pertaining to leadership, personal development and the environment, and facilitated numerous workshops and courses throughout South Africa.

 Through his company, “The Natural Transformation Company”, Braam is striving to get children (and parents) away from TV, shopping malls and negative peer pressure. Braam’s co-facilitator is nature, and together they have already made a huge difference.

Braam has always been a keen athlete. He received his colours for athletics (1500m) and cross-country at school. In 1975 he ran 532 km. In 8 days for an environmental charity. He has completed 17 standard marathons and 7 ultra marathons, including Comrades, two Oceans and the Puffer. During October 1999 he ran a distance of 620 km. In order to create a greater awareness amongst children as to the plight of our natural resources and our National Parks.   Apart from running, Braam completed SA selections for Camel Trophy, has been a keen tri-athlete and is a competitive adventure racer, mountain biker and paddler.
